Black Lives Matter
Togethr is for everyone. This indubitably includes our Black community. We believe in moving Black trans and queer people from the margins to the centre to amplify their voices, presence, and power within our community. We listen, learn, and support our global Black family – and vow to continue doing so.
The LGBTQ+ communities we strive to serve would be nothing without Black queer and trans people, such as Marsha P Johnson, Audre Lorde, and Magnus Bayard, whose brave actions ignited our fight for freedom. Our work picks up their torch and carries it forward with the goal of changing Black lives, forever.
We believe in tangible action, not just words of solidarity.
How to be actively anti-racist
Anti-racism requires active work to form anti-racist practices; impact over intention. At a micro level this looks like dismantling racist comments and promoting intersectionality. It’s also unlearning through reading resources, personal accountability, and conversing with others about what it means to be anti-racist. (Helpful hint: have these conversations with Non-Black POC or white people.) Together, we are stronger.
